Call for help
Save what remains of life within us. They say the "war" has ended, but I say the genocide will continue killing people and torturing souls until the very end.
Who will stand and fight with us, and for us? And who is just a liar, watching us suffer through this hell with no mercy or humanity?
Two weeks after the "ceasefire," two Palestinian Gazan doctors shared shawarma with two Canadian doctors at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. We talked about our medical journeys, made jokes, laughed a lot; and for once, we felt normal. We remembered what life felt like.
Call for help.
The first thing all released Gazan hostages say, upon finally being
freed from the prisons of humiliation and torture, is this: Save those who remain imprisoned; help them now, before it's too late.
And I, as a doctor from Gaza who has lived through a lifelong siege, countless wars, and a genocide; and still burn in its fire, say: Save those who remain among the sick.
And as a 30-year-old man who loves life and strives to do good, I say with a broken heart, a body pulsating with pain, and a soul drowning in Sorrow: Save what remains of life within us.
