Israel burning people alive
Hello. Two hours ago, while people were asleep, the occupation targeted four residential apartments in Gaza City, and burned to death, and wiped out entire families from the civil registry.
Earlier in the day, several areas in the center of Gaza were also attacked, and more people were killed, and injured.
About my shift today: a middle-aged woman with advanced breast cancer and severe fluid accumulation in her abdomen came to us with shortness of breath and significant abdominal distension. She underwent a procedure to drain the fluid from her abdomen without any analgesia. Even when she was discharged home, her pain remained inadequately managed because the hospital pharmacy could not afford to provide potent pain medication.
The hospital also didn't have a free bed in the cardiology unit for my patient suffering from unstable angina. it left him frightened and angry, fearing for his life. He had previously undergone open heart surgery and later required a coronary stent, yet he continues to suffer severe episodes of chest pain whenever he tries to walk.
We couldn't scan anyone's brain from early night, when there were too many trauma cases.
Today, my friend's sister's home was targeted. She lost her husband, and survived with severe injuries. More than ten shrapnel fragments penetrated her abdomen and pelvis, and one fragment was found inside her spinal canal. She cannot move her legs. She was rushed to surgery, and hours later l learned that surgeons had found 18 perforations in her intestines. She is now in the ICU.
My cousin Baraa, was injured two days ago while walking in the street when a group of people nearby were targeted. He is now in the 1CU, to be stabilized for a surgery this morning. Baraa had lost his brother, my beloved cousin Alaa in the war of 2014.
A girl suffering from a congenital bone disease fractured her femur after a minor fall onto a stone in her destroyed house. Her relatives told me that her brother is currently at another hospital undergoing surgery on both legs after a similarly minor injury.
Too many people have come to us after falling from carts drawn by cars, suffering brain injuries, fractures and other injuries.
A few hours in the emergency department of a Gazan hospital, feels like a lifetime of suffering.
This is how it has been lately. They are making it seem as though this genocide will never end.
This is only a fraction of what I experienced today.
There's an old woman sleeping now in a bed here. She had been in the emergency, screaming for hours, before she finally calmed down after we found her the appropriate medication. Her family said that she's been suffering the same thing for 7 months now. We couldn't scan her brain yet, because we don't have a scanner. Another patient i came tonight, and waiting for the same scan. My colleague's mother is suffering from a very rare brain tumor, and she's been suffering severe headaches, amd other symptoms, and has been waiting for medical evacuation for over a year now.
At one point during the war, we didn't have beds to examine patients at, and people had to lay on the ground to be cared of.

"Israeli occupation forces arrested the Palestinian doctor Mahmoud Dalal Al-Najjar while he was leaving the Gaza Strip for Italy to continue his medical specialization at the University of Turin. He was physically assaulted and taken to an unknown destination.
Dr. Al-Najjar is the sole surviving member of his family after his wife, four children, and several relatives were killed when their home in Jabalia was targeted in 2024."
