tomorrow is my 31st birthday
I'm sharing this while feeling exhausted as genocide. Kindly, read it, to the last slide and share it.
Salam, this is me again.
Tomorrow is my 31st birthday.
I'm sharing this to support children's education at a school in my camp. If you would like to give me a birthday gift, please consider interacting with this post, sharing it, and supporting this
That would mean a great deal to me.
I never get to truly rest from my exhaustion because, from the very beginning, Ive been committed to preserving my humanity, and everyone else's, as best as I can. I keep trying as hard as I can because I need to believe that, in the end, something worth living for, can be born from all this pain.
I miss normal. I miss myself whenI was growing up normally, not like now, with a soul etched by all the things that should never be normal. When I sayI miss normal, I mean everything in and around me. I mean my memory, my mental capacity, my physical health, my emotional resilience, my state of mind, my spontaneity, my ability to care about things, my heartfelt kindness, my facial expressions, my body language, my entire being, basically. And not just mine. Everyone else's too.
As an emergency physician who could be killed at any moment, I say this with complete seriousness and a universe of rage: there has not been a single day since the so-called ceasefire without a massacre occurring somewhere in Gaza.
The killing never stopped. The destruction never stopped. The suffering only deepens.
After three years of a people being subjected to genocide, this should have been a time for relief, recovery, and justice; not more hopelessness, and helplessness.
Speaking of relief, I have been one of the fortunate Gazans who has been able to help his family survive with less suffering throughout this ongoing horror, while also supporting many other families.
I have been entrusted with the means to help thousands of families, both within my camp and beyond it. The responsibility has changed me. I am a more responsible man now, and it is a profound honor to have proven myself as Someone others can rely on.
One of the most meaningful things for me has been seeing my efforts reflected in the eyes of those I help, as real help that has made a difference in their lives.
Speaking of helplessness, I saw how deeply it can be felt when I visited the school I support a few days ago.
I saw children being educated while sitting on the floor because there were no desks for them to use. Most of the desks had either been destroyed or burned for cooking fuel at a time when finding food was more urgent than preserving education.
All of my siblings' education has been severely affected by the destruction of schools and universities. As for me, I lost the opportunity to pursue better medical training in the UK.
But this post is about easing, even if only a little, that feeling of helplessness.
Today, I sat with the school's director and teachers after they invited my mother and me to thank us for our efforts in supporting their school. Over time, the children have received clothing and other essential winter supplies on more than one occasion. They have also been provided with school bags, stationery, and, last but not least, hygiene and personal safety items.
Dedication - Girls' School 2026
From the Shelter Center of Nuseirat Preparatory
To the esteemed sister and her esteemed son Amal Mohammed Al-Tahrawi
Ali Hassan AI-Tahrawi
For their efforts exerted in serving the displaced people in the center, which were filled with affection and dedication.
Asking Almighty God to grant them continued success and giving.
Today while I'm at the school, I realized that It's wonderful that the children are back at school. But they need structure to be able to focus on their learning. Sitting on a hard floor in an uncomfortable position can be detrimental and distracting to their focus on learning, These kids have the right to quality education. That includes the right environment.
Therefore, I have come up with a plan to furnish nine clasSrooms with new desks. Each desk will accommodate two students, giving children a proper place to learn, write, and engage with one another in a more comfortable and dignified environment.
Today, we reached an agreement with a skilled carpenter who specializes in building school desks. Each desk will cost around 70$
The plan is ready. The carpenter is ready. The school is waiting.
All we need now is your help to turn this idea into a reality.
With your help, hundreds of children will have a proper place to sit, learn, write, and build their future.

Thank you for your generosity and continued support.
With gratitude
